Horwich Photography Part 3

horwich-photography

More photography from around the Brazley area in Horwich – this time a nice bin

Hand Made Cut and Paste Book Design

This book was produced with a combination of screenprinting, cut and paste, photocopier abuse and solvent transfer printing techniques. It made a change to get away from the screen for a bit and do some rough scribbling and glue-ing for a change. Taking locations from Horwich, the book acts as a tour guide so you can keep track of how many times you are stabbed, mugged or set on fire as you visit some of the more unsavoury landmarks in the area.

Horwich Photography Part 2

containers

Some more interesting bits of stuff from around where I live – this time a bunch of grungy old containers.

skip

Found a nice photograph on my mac of an orange skip that was left on a playing field in sunny Horwich. Hardly breaking news, but I may end up using this for something.

Super Cute Cola Creatures

Big brands have a load of cash to splurj (you owe me for that plug matey..) on their campaigns, and it can be safe to say that an established household name brand like Coke or Nike can afford to be leftfield and let creatives come up with some bonkers ideas. I imagine this idea came about and was pitched in a Nathan Barley style meeting of creatives and marketeers – “it would be well good yeah, if we had some like furry little shits yeah, and they could be in like, an organ on a hill, and they could be like, dancing to Calvin Harris and showing everyone just how fucking well good it is to drink coke yeah? – well good mate.”

Still – I sound cynical but this advert makes me smile every time I see it…

Matte Painting and Retouching – photoshop experiment

A bit of an experiment with some new techniques this one – I have always liked concept art for sci-fi films, like this nice mockup of a ravaged, nuclear winter environment from the latest Terminator film..

terminatorconcept

Starting off with one relatively normal image (..this was found in an old folder on my mac – if you are the owner and im using this without permission please let me know) and a folder full of other images to be used in the composite as details (stock images of skies, bits of buildings, crumbling concrete textures and stuff) I thought it would be a fun experiment to achieve the effect of the initial mushroom cloud.

Here is the starting image…

And with a bit of photoshoppery, here is the result so far…

Fluid Character Designs

characters
This was a good laugh to do – each member of the team at Fluid Creativity were drawn up, and used on some promo literature to show clients how good looking we all are!

Blackbeard’s Delight Logo

Yarr! The logo design for Blackbeard’s Delight was produced for usage on team vehicle livery for the Staples to Naples charity banger rally. The intrepid Blackbeard team went on to raise lots of precious booty for the Make a Wish foundation in their epic voyage.
